
In Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, industrial estates are available in two Special Economic Zones in Starachowice and in Tarnobrzeg.
The Starachowice SEZ in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship covers 286 ha, located in the towns of Konskie, Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Skarzysko-Kamienna and Suchedniow, and the mu¬nicipality of Morawica. The Tarnobrzeg SEZ in SwiQtokrzyskie Voivodeship covers 97 ha, located in the municipalities of Potaniec, Staszow and Tucz^py. As a result of SEZ operations in these zones, by the end of 2006, 58 business permits were issued, which was linked to the investment of PLN 330 million and creation of 351 7 new workplaces. In the very same year 2006, 15 permits were granted to entrepreneurs who will jointly invest PLN 77.7 million and create 421 workplaces. In terms of the number of new workplaces, the most significant is the investment project of IRB Sp. z o.o. - 70 people, and in terms of capital outlay volume-that of Alpol Gips Sp. z o.o.-PLN 18 million. In SwiQtokrzyskie Voivodeship, two loan funds are in operation, financially supported by EU funds, available from: - Foundation for the Development of Pierzchnica Region at Pierzchnica; - Konskie Association for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship in Konskie. In the voivodeship, we also have the FUNDSTAR Credit Guarantee and Financial Sup¬port Fund in Starachowice.
According to the official data of the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS; as at Sep¬tember 30, 2006), in SwiQtokrzyskie Voivodeship 105,550 companies were registered. Out of these, 522 were foreign capital companies. Some of the foreign investors in our voivodeship are:

Lafarge Cement Polska S.A. - Matogoszcz Cement Plant
Matogoszcz Cement Plant is located at Matogoszcz, 35 km south-west of Kielce. The cement plant is one of the largest production plants in the region, and is equipped with three lines for dry-process production of clinker and four cement production lines. Annual production capacity amounts to 1.7 million tons of cement. The cement plant makes use of its own limestone deposits and Jurassic marl from an open pit mine 1 km away. There are 14 silos, each of 5,000 ton capacity. The plant boasts a state-of-the-art packing and palletisation system, four car terminals for bulk cement loading, complete with one railway and motor car terminal. The range of Matogoszcz Cement Plant products includes a wide variety of Portland cements, Portland cements with mineral admixtures, and blast-furnace cement.
